The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued permits for a new condominium tower that is set to become the next tallest building in Pompano Beach. The upcoming building is the already announced 32-story oceanfront Beach Tower, planned for 1380 South Ocean Boulevard, as part of the Ritz-Carlton Residences Pompano Beach. This development is a joint venture partnership between Fortune International Group and Oak Capital. With approval to rise 353 feet, it will surpass the current tallest structures, the 334-foot-tall Pompano Beach Club towers, which have held this title since their completion in 1975. The Beach Tower, facing the Atlantic Ocean, will be joined by a smaller 14-story, 88-unit Marina Tower across the street along the Intracoastal Waterway, designed by Revuelta Architecture International.

The permits, submitted for approval on October 12, 2022, finally received approval on September 5, 2023, following nearly a year of review. The FAA’s aeronautical study confirmed that the structure would not significantly impact aircraft’s safe and efficient use of navigable airspace or air navigation facilities. These permits are set to remain valid until March 5, 2025, providing an 18-month window for development. Below, you’ll find four approvals, each corresponding to the highest points of the buildings, which will reach an elevation of 361 feet above mean sea level.
