Silver Sands Beach Resort in Key Biscayne, FL, will soon be replaced with a luxury condominium. Miami-based Terra recently secured approval from city officials, greenlighting a project that would replace the 1950s-era hotel with a 13-story tower.

The high-rise would require 288,163 square feet of new construction, comprising 56 condos. The South Florida Business Journal reports that most homes will measure 3,354 to 4,788 square feet; the largest condos would occupy the building’s top floor, spanning just over 8,000 square feet. Both would also come with private swimming pools. Communal amenities feature a fitness center, spa, several restaurants, and three resort-style pools. There would also be 221 underground parking spaces, averaging to about four per unit.

Touzet Studio and ODP Architecture & Design are the project’s architects. Hollywood-based ODP Architecture & Design is behind another project Florida YIMBY recently reported on: the redevelopment of Sunset Place in South Miami. The mixed-use complex will feature nine high-rise towers, with the tallest one reaching 33 stories above grade.

Terra will invest over $600 million to make its luxury housing project possible. Some of that funding will go into local drainage improvements and improvements for a nearby intersection. The condominium will occupy the site of 301 Ocean Dr., Key Biscayne, FL, 33149, in Miami-Dade County.

I think it should be Key Biscayne, not Biscayne Fl

  2. Early visits to Miami, many years ago included staying at the Silver Sands, right on the beach in sleepy Key Biscayne. The “crows nest” was the place to have an afternoon drink. Well, take paradise and put up a condominium.
