Miami Worldcenter Delivers 80,000-Square-Foot ‘Jewel Box’ Retail Building in Downtown Miami

The developers of Miami Worldcenter have completed another 80,000 square feet of lifestyle-driven retail space. The stand-alone building, Block F-East, marks one of the final retail components of the 27-acre project to be delivered as active vertical development continues at the $4 billion mixed-use development in the heart of Downtown Miami. Featuring a modern design enclosed with floor-to-ceiling glass, Miami Worldcenter’s ‘Jewel Box’ is located at the confluence of the 7th Street Promenade and World Paseo open-air retail pedestrian streets, directly west of the development’s upcoming citizenM boutique hotel and north of the completed luxury apartment tower Bezel Miami.

YIMBY stopped by the recently opened Arlo Wynwood, a 9-story boutique hotel at 2217 Northwest Miami Court in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District. Designed by Nichols Architects with interiors by Meyer Davis and developed by Quadrum Global, the 114-foot-tall structure yields 217 rooms, marking the latest installation of the Arlo Hotels brand and the first hotel for the rapidly developing Wynwood area. Plaza Construction served as the general contractor for the development, which officially opened to the public on November 1.

YIMBY recently stopped by The Tampa EDITION Hotel & Residence, a 27-story mixed-use building at the recently completed first phase of Strategic Property Partners’ 56-contiguous-acre Water Street Tampa mixed-use development, addressed as 500 Channelside Drive (Hotel) and 1000 Water Street (Residence). The project was designed by Morris Adjmi Architects alongside Nichols Architects as the architect of record and contains 38 luxury residences and a 5-star, 172-key hotel with interiors appointed and curated by Roman and Williams via Ian Schrager’s EDITION luxury lifestyle brand. Suffolk Construction served as the general contractor for the 319-foot-tall tower, which completed construction earlier this year.

Nichols Architect’s The Wynhouse Gets Artful Design Refinements

New renderings have surfaced of The Wynhouse, an 8-story mixed-use development proposed for 2200 Northwest 1st Avenue in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District. Generally referred to as FB Wynwood, the project is designed by Coral Gables-based Nichols Architects with interiors by New York-based Rockwell Group and developed by New York’s Fisher Brothers under the FBWS Development Senior LLC. The Wynhouse is planned to yield approximately 360,394 square feet of space including 308 residential units, 21,605 square feet of ground floor commercial space ,a 4,140-square-foot public paseo, and 122 combined onsite and offsite parking. Miami Lakes-based Langan Engineering is listed as the civil, geotechnical, environmental and traffic engineer. Hollywood-based Witkin Hults + Partners is the landscape architect.
