FAA Approves Twin 27-Story RAMSA-Designed Flagler Towers Planned In West Palm Beach

Airspace obstruction permits have been approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for work on Flagler Towers, a twin-towered 27-story residential development in West Palm Beach comprised of two 373-foot-tall structures designed by New York City’s Robert A.M. Stern Architects (RAMSA) with Stantec as the executive architect and developed by Palm Beach-based Frisbie Group. Addressed as 1315 and 1401 South Flagler Drive, the planned development is comprised of 728,365 square feet of space including 100 condos and 9 townhomes, 10 suites for the guests of condo owners, a 312-space parking garage integrated into a multistory podium, and 8,184 square feet of restaurant space. The permits were approved as of March 8, 2022, and have an expiration date set for September 9, 2023, meaning activity could begin within the next 18 months. Plans for Flagler Towers were unanimously approved by the West Palm Beach City Commission earlier this year; construction is projected to reach completion by 2025.

Located at 1809 Brickell Avenue in Brickell, one of the city’s most highly sought-after neighborhoods, the towers boast architectural and interiors designs by New York City-based visionaries Robert A.M. Stern Architects (RAMSA) and the Rockwell Group. The East Tower will contain 149 residences, of which all will be bathed in natural light and offer a subdued color palette with luxurious detailing, including light oak cabinetry, bronze fixtures, and a monumental stone-topped island. Master bathrooms include separate double vanities and powder rooms as well as opulent freestanding bathtubs. Interior demolition permits have been filed for a 17-story residential building located at 1809 Brickell Avenue in Brickell, Miami. Completed in 1966, the building is known as the Stanley Axelrod UTD Towers and spans 211,121 square feet of space across 272 dwelling units. Related Group is listed as the owner of the permit application, who is redeveloping the 137,702-square-foot site along with Integra Investments. A contractor has not been listed as of yet, but the approximate cost for the work is $50,000 to demolish 6,200 square feet of interior space.
