Construction Is Set To Begin In January 2022 For Adache Group Architects-Designed Aloft Hotel In Fort Lauderdale

Construction is set to begin soon on Aloft Hotel, a new 14-story commercial building planned for 501 Southeast 24th Street in Poinciana Park, Fort Lauderdale. The project’s architect, Adache Group Architects, has announced work will begin in January of 2022 with Verdex Construction selected as the general contractor. The scope of work includes the construction of 140,000 square feet of hotel space and an adjacent surface-level parking lot with 100 spaces for valet service. West Palm Beach-based Green Park Management, a premier hotel management and hospitality company, is developing the hotel – which would mark the third Marriot-branded location for the hotelier in the Fort Lauderdale market.

Fort Lauderdale’s first Aloft Hotel will take on Marriot’s standard for the brand, which is depicted in the renderings designed in a contemporary-modern architectural language consisting of a series of frames ornamented with recessed LED light fixtures. The lighting further emphasizes the building’s façade, more specifically during the night when displaying an array of colorful light schemes.  The building’s exterior will be painted with familiar colors typically seen across most Aloft developments, and a series of of horizontal bands run up the north and south facades to add appeal and distinguishable character. Other materials seen in the renderings include wood trim panels, aluminum framing systems and smooth stucco finishes.

“We are excited to begin construction on Aloft Hotel in Fort Lauderdale,” said Daniel Adache, CEO of Adache Group Architects. “Business is booming in the City of Fort Lauderdale, and individuals come from around the world to experience the beaches, culture, and food, this property will be an appealing hotel for business and leisure travel visitors coming to South Florida.”

The development site is located on the northwest corner of the intersection between South Federal Highway (Florida State Road A1A) and Southeast 24th Street (East State Road 84) – also known as Marina Boulevard, and bounded by Southeast 23rd Street to the north and Southeast 4th Avenue on the western frontage of the block. The structure will occupy the smaller parcel on the south end of the site, while the grade-level parking lot would occupy the space to the north.The proposed hotel is less than two miles away from the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center and Port Everglades, the No. 3 busiest cruise port in the world.

“We are excited to join the growing Fort Lauderdale market with our third Marriott branded hotel. This beautiful 14 story Aloft by Marriott will consist of high-end guest rooms and amenities in a market with mostly older hotels,” said Robert Guarini, President of Green Park Management. “We are looking forward to servicing the needs of Fort Lauderdale travelers at the airport, cruise port, downtown and the beach.”

Aloft Hotel will consist of 138 guest rooms ranging between 294-square feet and 475-square feet. The hotel’s ground floor would be the valet drop-off site, whereas the second floor would actually house the 5,000-square-foot lobby, including indoor seating, a bar, and a grab-and-go breakfast concept Re:fuel by Aloft®. All of the guest rooms will be located within floors 3 through 13 with two guest laundry facilities, a meeting room, and a business center. The 14th floor covered rooftop level with feature a 540-square-foot pool, gaming area, cabanas, and a fire pit.

Construction is projected to last just over 2 years, scheduled for completion in March 2023.
