A significant milestone has been reached in downtown Tampa as Coastal Construction celebrates the topping out of the Arts and Entertainment Residences (AER), a striking 31-story tower developed by American Land Ventures in partnership with Gazit Horizons. With its prime location across from the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, at 300 West Tyler Street, this 334-unit high-rise offers residents immediate access to the city’s vibrant cultural scene and breathtaking views of the city and river, all steps away from the iconic Tampa Riverwalk.
The topping-out ceremony signifies the completion of the tower’s structural framework and represents a major achievement for the construction team. President of Central Florida for Coastal Construction, Sean DeMartino, expressed his pride in the accomplishment, stating, “Our team of skilled builders and dedicated workers proudly celebrate today’s topping out of this magnificent residential tower. This milestone is a testament to the collaborative spirit with American Land Ventures and the unwavering dedication of our entire team, from laying the foundation to placing the top floor.”
Let’s take a closer look at the impressive project by the numbers:
- Total Concrete: 36,320 cubic yards
- Total Rebar: 3,173 tons
- Total Drywall: 1,170,000 square feet
- Total Glass: 85,233 square feet
- Plumbing: 111,000 feet of water piping
- Electrical: 118 miles of metal-clad cable, 49 miles of PVC, 76 miles of wire
During the topping-out ceremony, Coastal Construction honored the men and women who worked diligently to achieve this significant milestone. Two palm trees and an American flag were raised to the top of the building to symbolize their accomplishment.
As the heart of the River Arts District, AER will not only provide upscale residences but also feature street-level shops, adding to the vibrancy of the surrounding area. The ground-level retail space spans an impressive 13,802 square feet; a parking structure provides 514 parking spaces above it. The tower’s design is influenced by its cultural connections, acting as a focal point between the Straz Center, Tampa Museum of Art, Glazer Children’s Museum, Tampa Riverwalk, and Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.
Designed by CUBE 3, AER is expected to be completed in the spring of 2024, bringing a new level of luxury living to downtown Tampa.
Coastal Construction is one of the largest general contractors in Florida, with offices in Miami, Orlando, Tampa, and West Palm Beach. Their expertise and dedication have played a vital role in bringing the vision of AER to life, contributing to the ongoing growth and development of Tampa’s urban landscape.
