Two of South Florida’s premier real estate development groups, Terra and Turnberry, have selected Balfour Beatty as the general contractor for the new Grand Hyatt Miami Beach Convention Center Hotel. Located at the intersection of 17th Street and Convention Center Drive, the 17-story, 800-room hotel will serve as the central anchor of the Miami Beach Convention Center District, steps away from the beachfront, hundreds of shops and restaurants along Lincoln Road, the New World Center, the Bass Museum, and the Fillmore Miami Beach. Early site work at the property is now underway, with vertical construction anticipated to start this year and be completed in 2025.
New York-based real estate development and investment firm SHVO has secured unanimous approval for the revitalization of 407 Lincoln Road into a Class A ultra-luxury office property with an emphasis on high performance and sustainability. Just recently, the Historic Preservation Board reviewed plans for the redevelopment, led by Foster + Partners in collaboration with Kobi Karp Architects, with prominent members of the local community, including Howard Herring, President and Chief Executive Officer of New World Symphony; Lyle Stern, President of Koniver Stern Group; as well as the Miami Design Preservation League and Lincoln Road Business Improvement District, all expressing resounding support for the project.
New renderings have surfaced for The Fifth Miami Beach, a new 5-story Class A+ office building scheduled to start construction soon at 411 Michigan Avenue in the South of Fifth neighborhood of Miami Beach. Designed by renowned Spanish master architect Alberto Campo Baeza with award-winning firm Cube 3 as the executive architect and developed by a joint venture partnership between Sumaida + Khurana and Bizzi & Partners, the boutique commercial development will yield approximately 92,356 square feet, including nearly 60,000 square feet of office spaces featuring interiors by world-renowned architecture firm Gabellini Sheppard Associates. Urban Robot Associates is the landscape architect for the project, which is expected to complete construction in early 2024.

The milestone marks the construction commencement for the mixed-use brand that unites design-forward residences for short- or long-term rental with co-working spaces, wellness amenities, social activations, and lifestyle-oriented retail, all in one central address. On November 15, Location Ventures, development partners, and city officials gathered at the project site for the official groundbreaking ceremony. Special guests included Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber, Washington Avenue Business Development Executive Director Troy Wright, and Miami Beach Commissioner Alex Fernandez.
