Starting next week, Tampa will host the captivating creations of Netherlands-based Studio Roosegaarde: Waterlicht and Dune, thanks to the collaborative efforts of developer Strategic Property Partners and local gallery CASS Contemporary.

Tampa-based real estate development firm Strategic Property Partners, LLC (“SPP”) and the International WELL Building Institute (“IWBI”) today announced that Water Street Tampa, the transformative new lifestyle destination in Downtown Tampa, has achieved the WELL Community Certification at the Gold level, becoming the first neighborhood in North America to receive the prestigious distinction. Awarded by IWBI, the certification celebrates Water Street Tampa’s successful, strategic integration of design and policy decisions that promote health and well-being across all aspects of the neighborhood. Leading to this certification, Water Street Tampa was the first neighborhood in the world to pilot the WELL Community Standard in 2017.

The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) granted the certification to Thousand & One for its effective adoption of design and policies that prioritize wellness, earning it the distinction of being the first building in Tampa to achieve WELL Gold certification. Thousand & One also claims to be the first in Tampa to obtain any level of certification for WELL Core & Shell.
YIMBY recently stopped by the completed first phase of Water Street Tampa, the 56-acre mixed-use neighborhood developed by Strategic Property Partners (SPP) located within the southern stretch of Downtown Tampa, beside the Channel District. Today, we’re taking a look at Asher Residences, a dynamic, highly-amenitized new 22-story apartment tower at 1050 Water Street designed by Morris Adjmi Architects alongside ODP Architecture & Design as the architect of record. The 273-foot-tall post-modern structure spans approximately 787,808 square feet and offers 490 rental residences ranging from studio to two-bedroom floor plans, as well as 30,000 square feet of ground floor retail space. In addition to offering a collection of rental residences, the developer teamed up with Philadelphia-based hospitality company Method Co. to bring the first Florida location of their high-design extended-stay concept, ROOST Apartment Hotel, at Asher.

Designed inside and out by renown architecture firm Morris Adjmi Architects, the 490-unit building offers a nod to Tampa’s industrial history with oversized divided-light windows that maximize natural light. The building also boasts a custom art collection curated by Adjmi’s team that showcases over 40 works by national and international artists.
