UHealth—University of Miami Health System has announced the topping off of its largest outpatient medical facility, UHealth at SoLé Mia. This facility, addressed as 2111 Sole Mia Way, is part of the 184-acre master-planned community in North Miami, developed by Oleta Partners, a joint venture between developers LeFrak and Turnberry. Robins & Morton is the general contractor.
The topping-off ceremony, marking a key milestone in the project, featured the placement of the last beam atop the construction of UHealth at SoLé Mia. The event included a guided tour, a virtual reality experience of the final building design, and a ceremonial signing of the final beam by stakeholders involved in the project.
Notable attendees included Dr. Dipen Parekh, chief operating officer for UHealth; Dr. Henri Ford, dean of the Miller School of Medicine; Richard LeFrak, CEO of the LeFrak organization; Jamie LeFrak, Harrison LeFrak, Harrison Soffer; Richard Fain, executive committee member and former chair of the University of Miami Board of Trustees; Stuart Miller, Chair of the UHealth Board of Directors; Manny Kadre, chair-elect of the University of Miami Board of Trustees; and Alix Desulme, the mayor of North Miami. The event concluded with a celebration honoring the workforce involved in the project.
Upon completion, UHealth at SoLé Mia, spanning 363,000 square feet, will be UHealth’s largest outpatient medical facility. It is set to begin patient services in 2025 and will feature 110 exam rooms, 10 operating rooms, and 33 clinical cancer treatment units. Designed with patient experience in mind, the facility will include open green spaces and a reflection garden overlooking the ocean and SoLé Mia’s seven-acre Crystal lagoon.
UHealth at SoLé Mia will host specialists from Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Desai Sethi Urology Institute, and nationally ranked programs in neurology, neurosurgery, and other medical specialties. Services will include cardiology, endocrinology, otolaryngology, gastroenterology, dermatology, orthopedics, sports medicine, physical rehabilitation, and more.
