The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) granted the certification to Thousand & One for its effective adoption of design and policies that prioritize wellness, earning it the distinction of being the first building in Tampa to achieve WELL Gold certification. The excitement is building in Ybor City, Tampa, as preparations are underway for the official groundbreaking of the highly anticipated Gas Worx mixed-use development. This 50-acre joint venture between Darryl Shaw and D.C.-based KETTLER will break ground on March 6th. It will be attended by several distinguished speakers, including Tampa Mayor Jane Castor and the founder and CEO of KETTLER, Bob Kettler. The project’s design is in the hands of Design Collective as the architect, with Bohler serving as the engineer. Sasaki is handling the urban planning and design aspect of the project.

Site Plans Filed For 33-Acre Mixed-Use Waterfront Development ‘Ybor Harbor’ In Tampa

A rezoning application for Ybor Harbor, a dynamic new 33-acre mixed-use waterfront development surrounding Ybor Channel, was filed with the City of Tampa late Thursday. The project, at the northern terminus of Ybor Channel, is being developed by Darryl Shaw and could yield up to 6 million square feet, including  2,586 residential units and 140,400 square feet of general office, 375 hotel rooms, and 292,260 square feet of commercial retail space. Working with Port Tampa Bay, the Ybor Harbor plans envision opening a section of the waterfront to the public that is currently restricted. Activation will include a boardwalk with restaurant and retail uses, piers, boat slips, floating docks, and green space.
