Coral Gables Experiences Boom In Transit-Oriented Construction Projects Near Douglas Road Metrorail Station

Miami’s Coral Gables neighborhood has been experiencing an uptick in active transit-oriented residential, office and mixed-use construction projects. Architectural designer and urban planner Aaron DeMayo recently photographed the area from above, capturing the immense amount of on-going construction and recently completed developments surrounding the Douglas Road Metrorail Station parallel to South Dixie Highway (US Highway 1) between Southwest 37th and 38th Avenues. Below are a number of relative major projects in the area varying in stages of construction, as well as a few that were recently completed.

PMG Announces Pre-Leasing For 49-Story Society Biscayne In Downtown Miami

National real estate developer Property Markets Group (PMG) announces the start of pre-leasing for apartments at Society Biscayne, a 49-story mixed use building nearing completion at 400 Biscayne Boulevard. Soaring 571-feet in to Miami’s rapidly growing skyline, the project is developed in partnership with Toronto-based real estate private equity firm Greybrook Realty Partners and designed by Sieger Suarez Architects. Pre-leasing at the tower will begin on Friday December 9, 2021.

Renderings Revealed For S-Shaped 649-Foot-Tall Tower In Miami Designed By Rafael Viñoly Architects

New renderings have surfaced of a 649-foot-tall mixed-use tower proposed for 1370 Northeast 2nd Avenue in Miami’s Arts and Entertainment District in between Park West and Edgewater. The S-shaped glass structure is designed by New York City-based Rafael Viñoly Architects, and would rise 54-stories across the street from the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts and adjacent to the new Signature Bridge. Crescent Heights is developing the project along with Miami-Dade County’s Public Schools and Performing Arts Center, and the Miami Parking authority. The proposed plan for the project incorporates ground floor commercial uses, office spaces, a new home for Miami-Dade County Public Schools headquarters, multi-family residential units and amenities, and a parking resource serving the Arsht Center.

The Chetrit Group Awaits Construction Permits For Kobi Karp-Designed Riverwalk Towers In Miami

New York-based developer The Chetrit Group awaits permitting for their plans to build four 60-story rental skyscrapers along the Miami River. Designed by Kobi Karp, the pending tower cluster titled Miami Riverwalk Towers is addressed as 275 Southwest 6th Street in the north-western perimeters of the Brickell neighborhood, spanning 20 plots of land bounded by SW 3rd Ave. to the west, SW 7th Street to the south, SW 2nd Ave. to the east, and SW 5th Street to the north while also adjacent to the river waterfront and nearby the Interstate-95.
