General contractor Bradley Construction Company has recently broken ground on an affordable housing development near downtown St. Petersburg. Vincentian Village will offer 73 units; 50 one-bedroom and 23 two-bedroom residences in a six-story building.
A 29-acre property could be transformed into a massive mixed-income apartment complex. St. Pete Rising reports that the multi-phase Azalea Gateway would have 1,000 units, 300 of which would be affordable housing. Sources say this makes it one of the “largest public-private housing projects in the history of St. Petersburg.”
Construction is expected to start soon on Sunset Palms Luxury Townhomes, a five-unit complex in one of St. Petersburg’s historic neighborhoods. The upscale three-bedroom residences will span 1,950 square feet.
Pinellas County Commissioners have approved funding requests and contracts to enable the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) to begin a $110 million terminal expansion. Located at 14700 Terminal Boulevard in north St. Pete, the airport served 2.5 million passengers last year and offers non-stop routes to over 60 cities through Allegiant Air.
The Tampa Bay Rays have unveiled new conceptual designs for their proposed baseball stadium in downtown St. Petersburg. Designed by the architectural firm Populous, the stadium is set to be reviewed by the City Council Committee of the Whole on June 12. The team aims to secure approvals by July and begin construction in early 2025, with the stadium expected to open for the 2028 baseball season.
