The First Tower Of The Magic City Innovation District Is Submitted To Miami’s Urban Development Review Board

A 25-story mixed-use tower proposed for the upcoming 17.75-acre Magic City Innovation District in Little Haiti has been submitted to Miami’s Urban Development Review Board for approvals. The developer behind the application is MCD Miami LLC, a partnership between real estate developer Plaza Equity Partners, brokerage firm Metro 1, and investment firms Luna Rouge and Dragon Global. Parcel 11 is the tentative name for the new building and it’ll be the first of several towers to rise in the new Special Area District, projected to yield 522,806 square feet of space including 349 residential units, 13,010 square feet of retail space, and an adjacent connected parking and amenities structure with 393 vehicle spaces.

Notice Of Commencement Filed Where Two 83-Story Towers Are Planned At MiamiCentral

A notice of commencement has been filed by Florida East Coast Industries (FECI), the parent company of Brightline, indicating construction is set to begin at the site where two 83-story mixed-use towers are being planned. The scope of work involves the restructuring of the streetscape, re-aligning Northwest 1st Avenue directly south to Northwest 1st Street, demolishing the existing small park that breaks up the grid, and some sewer and plumbing work. Upon completing the realignment of the street, a new rectangular interior lot will be formed at 195 Northwest 2nd Street to make way for the 848-foot-tall south tower.

Development Review Commission Approves Kolter Group’s 41-Story Tower At 200 Central Avenue In St. Petersburg

Delray Beach-based developer Kolter Group is moving forward with the plans for project at 200 Central Avenue, a 41-story mixed-use building planned to rise on an existing grade-level parking lot in Downtown St. Petersburg. Despite some hesitation with the overall design, the city’s Development Review Commission ultimately gave the green light for project and site plan modifications requesting floor area ratio bonuses. Designed by SB Architects, the firm behind the design of Kolter’s One St. Petersburg and Saltaire towers, the structure will rise approximately 480-feet including the decorative crown, and yield 248 residential units, 6,100 square feet of ground floor retail, and 482 parking spaces.
