Barrington Brothers Break Ground On The Kavista At 495 NE 83rd Street In The Village Of El Portal

Barrington Brothers, managed by Arthur and Ken Barrington, have begun construction on The Kavista, a 8-story residential development at 495 Northeast 83rd Street in the historic Village of El Portal, located between Miami Shores and Little River in Miami-Dade County. Designed both on the exterior and interior by Modis Architects with Nielsen Landscape Architects handling landscape architecture, the $60 million development will offer one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, and ground floor live-work units ranging from 559 to 1,133 square feet. JDS Development And Major Food Group Unveil Scale Model Of Mixed-Use Supertall ‘Major’

A scale model was revealed at a recent event hosted by developers JDS Development Group (JDS) and Major Food Group (MFG) for Major, an 82-story, 1,049-foot supertall skyscraper being planned for a 0.52-acre site at 888 Brickell Avenue. The image, spotted by YIMBY on the instagram stories of both JDS and Major, gives us a bit more insight on preliminary architectural details and color pallets of the design from Studio Sofield and ODP Architecture & Design. The developers have already applied for building permits from the Federal Aviation Administration and are nearing approvals for plans submitted to Miami-Dade County. The project would comprise 259 condominium units, 50,490 square feet of space for food and beverage and 250 stacked parking spaces via a car elevator.

Miami-Dade County Planners To Review Plans For 36-Story ‘Block 45’ Development In The Overtown District

Atlantic Pacific Communities has filed an application for an Administrative Site Plan Review (ASPR) with Miami-Dade County in connection to Block 45, a 36-story transit oriented mixed-use building planned for a vacant 1.89-acre development site addressed as 152 Northwest 8th Street in Miami’s Overtown district. The project already has a handful of approvals from several governing bodies including a final site plan approval from the City of Miami and FAA approvals for a 395-foot-tall structure. Block 45 is designed by Corwil Architects with Architectural Alliance Landscape as the landscape architect and Kimley-Horn as the civil engineer. Plans for the tower include 616 residential units, of which 98 are micro units, 24,865 square feet of retail and 605 parking spaces.
