JDS Development Group Gets FAA Approval For 1,049-Foot Supertall ‘888’ In Brickell

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved and issued building permits to developer JDS Development Group (JDS) for 888, a 1,049-foot supertall mixed-use skyscraper planned for 888 Brickell Avenue in the heart of Miami’s Brickell financial district. Designed by Studio Sofield with ODP Architecture & Design as the architect of record, the 81-story tower is expected to yield 1,178,568 square feet of new space, including 259 residential units, 52,144 square feet of health/fitness, 38,727 square feet of food and beverage, and 273 parking spaces operated by a valet.

New renderings have surfaced for The Fifth Miami Beach, a new 5-story Class A+ office building scheduled to start construction soon at 411 Michigan Avenue in the South of Fifth neighborhood of Miami Beach.  Designed by renowned Spanish master architect Alberto Campo Baeza with award-winning firm Cube 3 as the executive architect and developed by a joint venture partnership between Sumaida + Khurana and Bizzi & Partners, the boutique commercial development will yield approximately 92,356 square feet, including nearly 60,000 square feet of office spaces featuring interiors by world-renowned architecture firm Gabellini Sheppard Associates. Urban Robot Associates is the landscape architect for the project, which is expected to complete construction in early 2024.

ANF Group, Inc., a full-service construction firm providing construction management, general contracting, development, and design-build services to the South Florida market, has announced the topping out of The Kavista, a 282-unit, eight-story residential development designed by Modis Architects located in the Village of El Portal neighborhood in Miami-Dade County. JLL Capital Markets arranged construction financing for The Kavista; Trez Capital originated the $60 million construction loan. JGR Construction is the structural contractor.
