Hyatt And Gencom Propose Redevelopment Of Hyatt Regency Miami With Mixed-Use Complex Of Three Towers

Leading global hospitality company Hyatt has teamed up with Miami-based luxury hospitality and residential developer Gencom to redevelop Downtown Miami’s iconic Hyatt Regency Miami at 400 Southeast 2nd Avenue, with the goal of making improvements in and out of the urban core, and activating a key piece of Miami’s riverfront. Designed by Miami-based Arquitectonica, plans for the site include three towers offering residents and hotel guests panoramic views of Downtown Miami and Biscayne Bay. Towers one and two would rise 61-stories and include 682 multifamily apartments, a 615-room Hyatt Regency with over 100,000 square feet of meeting space, and 264 serviced apartments; the towers would be linked at the top by a Skybridge featuring an upscale destination restaurant and lounge perched 700 feet over the city. Tower three would become one of the tallest buildings in South Florida rising 1,049-feet, anticipated to include 860 residential apartments.

FAA Approves 35-Story Residential Tower For 477 SW 1st Avenue In Fort Lauderdale

Permits have been approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for work on 477 Southwest 1st Avenue, a proposed 394-foot-tall residential building in Tarpon River, Fort Lauderdale. Located within the Downtown Regional Activity Center between Southwest 1st Avenue and Southwest Flagler Avenue with Southwest 4th Court on the North and Southwest 5th Street on the South, the project is being developed by Ellis Diversified, Inc. (EDI), a Fort Lauderdale-based firm led by real estate developer Jim Ellis, who acquired the 1.54-acre development site in September 2015 for $5 million. The FAA determination was approved on January 31, 2022 and will expire on July 31, 2023, meaning construction could occur relatively soon.

Construction Advances On Aria Reserve Sales Center; Permits Initiated For 649-Foot-Tall South Tower In Edgewater, Miami

YIMBY checked in on the progress of the sales center under construction at the development site for Melo Group’s upcoming Aria Reserve, a luxury residential project comprised of twin 62-story towers at 700 Northeast 24th Street in Edgewater, Miami. Designed by Miami-based Arquitectonica, both structures will rise 649-feet along Biscayne Bay and yield a combined 782 condominiums featuring interiors by MORADA Haute Furniture Boutique and landscaping by ArquitectonicaGEO. The sales center is being constructed at 725 Northeast 24th Street by the developer’s in-house contractor, Melo Contractors Corp, and should span 3,116 square feet upon completion.
