Nearly 25 years since launching in the heart of Downtown Miami, preeminent law Firm Bilzin Sumberg is doubling down on its Florida growth strategy with a significant office lease that will preserve its position as one of the central tenants at the 1450 Brickell office tower. The firm has renewed its lease for nearly 84,000 square feet of space at the Class A building, representing one of the largest law firm footprints in Miami’s urban core. Bilzin Sumberg’s renewal of its lease coincides with an influx of residents, companies, and investment into South Florida, with the Firm pursuing a strategy of steady growth that has solidified its role as a catalyst for business and wealth migration.
On October 19, Miami’s Urban Development Review Board will consider plans for The Edge, a 37-story mixed-use building proposed to rise at 456 Northeast 29th Street in Edgewater, Miami. Designed by Kobi Karp Architecture & Interior Design Inc. alongside Dieguez Fridman Arquitectos & Asociados and developed by a joint partnership between New York City-based real estate developers SB Development and Hazelton Capital Group under the Edgewater Owner, LLC, the approximate 465-foot-tall structure would yield 467,921 gross square feet including nearly 200,000 square feet of residential space spread across 96 units, 5,373 square feet of commercial space and an enclosed parking garage with 135 spaces. Kimley-Horn is listed as both the landscape architect and civil engineer.
Miami-based real estate development firm Ytech, led by Yamal Yidios, has announced The Residences at 1428 Brickell, a 70-story luxury condominium development planned for 1428 Brickell Avenue in Miami’s Brickell Financial District. Designed by Arquitectonica with interiors by Italian architecture firm ACPV ARCHITECTS, the building will be the first-ever high-rise residential tower using solar energy, comprised of a limited collection of 189 fully-finished residences with two- to four-bedroom plus den units ranging from 1,800 to 4,000 square feet, and a penthouse collection of units ranging from 4,000 to 10,000 square feet. John Moriarty Associates, one of the country’s most prolific luxury condominium builders, has been selected as the general contractor. The award-winning engineering firm Cosentini Associates has been chosen as the property’s expert solar energy consultant. Cervera Real Estate serves as the sales team representing the property.
Alchemy-ABR Investment Partners (Alchemy) a fully integrated New York-based real estate development and investment firm, announced the acquisition of 18 NW 23rd Street in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District. The 36,079-square-foot property was purchased by Alchemy for $18,000,000 in a deal that closed on September 29, 2022. The mixed-use site will be developed into a 12-story luxury residential building with 186 units, multiple retail spaces, and a parking garage. Local architects Arquitectonica and MKDA have been commissioned to design the building with construction commencing in 2024.
