54-Story Tower And Tower Cranes Approved By The FAA For Kobi Karp-Designed Miami River Development

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved both the 640-foot-tall tower proposed to rise at 275 Southwest 6th Street and the two 760-foot-tall tower cranes that will assist in the vertical construction of the structure. The applications pertain to the first tower of 54 stories at Chetrit Group’s Miami River project, a 4.2-million-square-foot mixed-use development located in West Brickell. Award-winning Miami-based architect Kobi Karp is leading the design for the river-facing complex, while G.T. McDonald Enterprises is listed as the general contractor.

An Administrative Site Plan Review (ASPR) is now underway for Pinecrest Walk, a 18-story mixed-use building proposed for 9650 South Dixie Highway in the Dadeland District of Kendall, Florida. Designed by Coral Gables-based Behar Font & Partners for Maestra Dadeland, LLC, the project is more specifically located within the Downtown Kendall Urban Center, several blocks south of Dadeland South Metrorail Station.

The building is anticipated to become both the tallest in the city and near Florida’s gulf coast, rising to approximately 515-feet over the Central Arts District. Award-winning architecture firm Arquitectonica is behind the curved design of the tower, while New York City-based Red Apple Real Estate, led by John Catsimatidis, is the developer. 400 Central will yields 301 coastal-modern residential units designed by Celano Design Studio featuring clear, unobstructed views of Tampa Bay and the Downtown skyline.
