Davie, Florida-based ANF Group, Inc., a full-service construction firm providing construction management, general contracting, development, and design-build services, has been selected as the general contractor for the construction of a new 15,000-square-foot ground up Theater Arts Building on the University of Miami’s Coral Gables Campus. Designed by Miami-based Mateu Architecture, the 2-story building will feature a theatre, concessions, wardrobe and dressing rooms, acting and dance classrooms, voice studios, a student lounge, and supporting spaces. A 1,000-square-foot IT Hub/Data Room will also be located within the space program of the new Theater Arts building. The project is currently in the pre-construction stages, and is expected to break ground in the third quarter of 2022.
Construction could start on Palm Springs Residences later this year. The venture requires demolishing a YMCA that will relocate elsewhere in Palm Beach County, Florida. When finished, the development will comprise more than 260,000 square feet of new construction.
Just a few weeks ago, YIMBY reported on the first detailed rendering of Brickell Gateway, a transit-oriented mixed-use high rise proposed for 90 Southwest 8th Street by developers Gazit Globe and Atlantic Pacific Communities. Another recent filing requesting a zoning hearing with Miami-Dade County planners has revealed a new set of preliminary plans that significantly increases the height of the tower from 643-feet to approximately 699-feet; a 56-foot jump. Designed by Coral Gables-based Corwil Architects, the building would now span 59 stories instead of 54, including a boost in retail and parking spaces, and overall yield 854,902 square feet of new construction with 504 residential units.
Diesel Wynwood is unfolding in South Florida. The eight-story building will offer 159 loft-style homes, ranging from studios to three-bedroom residences. There are also 14 two-story penthouses.
